Born in Lüneburg (Germany), currently living in Hamburg, DAIM’s roots lie in graffiti art, he started hitting the streets in 1989 and is now world renowned and highly regarded by admirers, clients, collectors, and his peers for his incredible technique and precision. His work has been exhibited in some of the top galleries and museums including the MACRO Museum Rome, Italy, Museum of Modern Art Bremen, Museum Marta Herford, Germany. In 2019 the Contemporary Art Center in Rouen, France featured a 30-year retrospective exhibition of his work. He has been commissioned and collaborated with high profile international corporations including Nike, DaimlerChrysler, Adidas, Volvo and many more. 2014 marked the release of a 25-year retrospective monograph titled Mirko Reisser [DAIM] 1989-2014, by the respected Italian publishing house Drago. He has been featured in the books Cross the Streets by Drago, Addicted to Walls by author Anne Vieth, From Style Writing to Art by Magda Danysz, Still On And None the Wiser by Rik Reinking and many more. His work is nurtured from urban landscapes, and he also absorbs influences from printmaking, painting, and architecture. DAIM succeeds in balancing a variety of content and techniques with his individual style. His geometric figures and letters obey the laws of light and shadow, but defy gravity and space, which results in transporting the beholder to new dimensions.
